hello xanga

Almost a year.

So I came back onto xanga today to try and find an old picture that was once up, but to no avail.  To be honest, I'm surprised people still write in this thing.  Simply amazing.

I read some of my old posts, too.  Hah, boy was I an angry person.  Sorry if I offended anyone in the past.  Oh well, shit happens.

Oh, and Hi Brenda.  haha.  Like you'd ever read this now.  but if you do visit Cali!

Well it's been fun.

Good bye Xanga.  Maybe in another year we'll meet again.

CRKT Van Hoy Snap Fire Knife

So I got this knife as a gift from my brother for graduation.  At first glance I thought the wheel at the end was ridiculous, but I overcame my first impressions and decided to test out the knife.  Its a new locking mechanims by Ed Van Hoy, who apparently is trying to get it patented right now.  To be honest, I didn't know how to close the knife at first.  But then again I'm one of those people who NEVER read instructions and just jump right into using things.  Well after a bit of thumbling around with the knife (not a recommended idea, btw) I figure out the trick to it.  After a bit of practice the knife is extremely easy to open, lock, and close with one hand.  very convient I must say.
As for the blade itself, it is EXTREMELY sharp, as should any new knife be.  this thing is ridiculous.  I was playing with the knife and inadvertantly cut my fingers a few times, only to find myself bleeding 5 Minutes later.  It was that sharp that I didn't notice a thing.  And yes I've tested it on other objects such as cardboard, wood, food, and like items and it works just as well.  I have yet to find a use for the triple point serrated part though, other than for detailed carving of wood edges.  I'm not sure about the durability of hte knife since I just recieved it.  But my brother has one and says it's lasted him a long time, even the sharpness.  And he has a tendency to abuse to the max everything he owns.  So I have confidence in it.  Plus he only buys quality merchandise.
I love the design of the knife, outside the wheel.  it even has a clip to attach it to ur pants or pack or watever you wish.  And it's so tight that you can put it to your pants upsidedown and it won't fall off.  I find that its easier to remove if its cliped upsidedown.  I've even seen pictures of people using it as a money clip.  HAHA what if someone demanded for your wallet and you pull out a knife instead.  Interesting Idea.
I still can't get over hte green with purple tinge wheel at the end.  And although, the locking mechanism is weird albeit ingenius.  It even has another lock that makes it a virtual fixed blade.  I believe this is an excelent piece of equipment.  I still have yet to test it in the wilderness, but have high hopes of its success.
All in all, love the knife and the new snap lock.  Hate the wheel.

Price: $89.99 at the www.crkt.com

Grade:A

p.s.
it was also pleasing to know that the company makes alot of knives for military purposes...which sastifies my worries about its durability.
